If you’ve recently taken new family photos, you probably want to print all of them for your home! Before you start printing your photos, however, it’s important to decide where you’re planning to display them. Not only will this dictate how many photos you should print but the sizes you should print too. The mantel may seem like the obvious place to display your beautiful photos but there are a few other areas of your home that work really well too.
Transition Areas
Hallways, walkways, and stairways are all transition areas and are some of the perfect spaces to display your new family photos. Basically, anywhere someone would move from one area of your house to the next is where you should consider displaying your photos. Not many people decorate these spaces at all, so this is the perfect opportunity to get creative, particularly because transition spaces have unique designs. Play with frames of different sizes and opt for a collage to make the space more interesting.
Family Areas
Anywhere you spend time with the people you love is a great space to display your family photos – this includes areas such as the living room, game room or dining room. What better way to enhance your family rooms than with your smiling faces. If you’re planning to display a large portrait in one of these areas, make sure that you choose a focus wall so that it gets the attention it deserves.
Extra Rooms
If you have any bonus rooms in your home such as reading nooks or play areas, why not add a special touch by proudly displaying a family photo or two. These rooms may not be used as often but this doesn’t make them any less special. Whether your kids use the room to study or create a new art project, there’s nothing better than having them look up and see all of the people they love in one photo.
If you don’t necessarily have a lot of wall space in these areas, use shelves and desks to display your photo frames. Again, using frames of various sizes will allow you to make the most of these smaller, intimate areas.
